A VAT calculator adds or removes value added tax from an amount in either direction. Enter a net amount to see the VAT and the gross total, or enter a gross amount to extract the VAT and recover the net. The rate is adjustable, so it works for the standard, reduced and zero rates used across different countries.

1. Enter the amount and set the VAT rate.
2. Choose Add VAT to go from net to gross, or Remove VAT to go from gross to net.
3. Read the VAT amount and the resulting net or gross figure.
4. Copy the result for your invoice or records.
